The VRFEG-2 module is now available fully assembled with soldered wires and crimped flat connectors for the Rosahl M-Series membranes (M-1J, M-2J, M-3M, M-3J) and MDL-3. Select the appropriate option above and save soldering work.
The USB-C-VREG2 power supply module is a suitable and compact power supply solution for the Rosahl dehumidifers (up to M-3J1R/MDL-3) from USB-C ports. It delivers 3V DC at 3A rated current with fold-back current limiting.
Fold-Back Current Limiting
Due to the membrane being intrinsically hygroscopic, it absorbs humidity if no supply voltage is present. This moisture needs to be discharged on startup and leads to a significantly higher inrush-current that the regular operating current. During startup the supply voltage shall still not drop below 2V, otherwise moisture discharge is not possible or significantly delayed. Suitable current supplies are fold-back current limiting sources, which regulate the output current further down than pure constant current sources and hence maintain a certain output voltage.
Storage of 3D-Print Filament Spools
The M-1J1R, M-2J1R, M-3M1R and MDL-3 product pages shows using the dehumidifiers for dry storage of 3D-print filament spools. The USB-C-VREG2 module mates perfectly with the shown 3D-printed mounting accessories (mounting frames for different spool dry boxes), hence providing a compact and properly sealed solution.
